Data
In order to conduct my experiment I used data collected from the online sorting hat quiz on Pottermore.com. The quiz has seven questions in total, each with different possible options for each question so there are many different versions of the quiz that you could get. Each question, regardless of the version, is based on a different trait that the sorting hat uses to place Hogwarts students.
I created an arff file with the data created from each user that has taken the quiz and then plugged that into Weka and ran numerous classifiers on it to see which one had the highest accuracy.
For the second part of my experiment, I created a quiz answer set for five characters in the book: Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger, Lord Voldemort, Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, and Cedric Diggory. I used information of the Harry Potter wiki as well as the books to put answers that matched the character's values for each question.
- Question 1 Topic - How do you want to be percieved by others?
- Question 2 Topic - Personal Objects (each house is associated with one)
- Question 3 Topic - Personal Values
- Question 4 Topic - School Subjects
- Question 5 Topic - How would you handle a stressful situation?
- Question 6 Topic - Symbols (each house is associated with one)
- Question 7 Topic - Decision Making
